Located in the heart of Paddington, this terrace project is a complete redesign by Interlock Design + Construct, transforming an existing inner-city terrace into a refined, contemporary residence. The design was driven by a simple ambition: to create a home that felt more open, more connected and more considered, a complete redesign of the whole home. Out with the old, in with the new. Rather than treating the kitchen, dining and living areas as separate rooms, Interlock reconfigured the ground floor to establish a stronger relationship between each space. The kitchen was brought forward into the heart of the home, fundamentally changing the way the family moves through and experiences the interior. The result is a lighter, more generous sense of space, with improved circulation and a natural connection between cooking, dining and living. The intervention feels architectural rather than simply cosmetic — every element has been considered as part of the whole.
Paddington Terrace demonstrates how thoughtful design can unlock the potential within an existing home.
By opening up the relationship between spaces, introducing concealed functionality and carefully balancing neutral tones with rich cabinetry and natural stone, Interlock has created an interior that feels sophisticated without being overly formal.
It is a home designed around the way people actually live — connected, adaptable and quietly luxurious.
The project was also recognised with the Audience Choice Award for REVEGO cabinetry, a particularly meaningful acknowledgement of the design's balance between architectural expression and everyday functionality.
For Interlock, Paddington Terrace represents the value of a truly integrated process: considered design, honest materials and meticulous craftsmanship, carried consistently from concept through to completion.
